Burnham Shaker Products
Country Shaker-style Furniture
Burnham, ME

Our Shaker boxes are made of hand-selected native Maine hardwoods. The procedure is still a handmade and precise process, much the same as the Shakers used 150 years ago. We’re proud to be keeping this wonderful craft alive.
Our Shaker-influenced country furniture is made of solid Eastern White pine. All exposed painted surfaces (tops, fronts and sides) are knot-free. The finish is a wax over paint, giving the pieces a warm, country feel. Minor distressing and square-cut nails complete the effect of high-quality reproductions. We offer an extensive line of chimney and jelly cupboards, hutches, base cabinets and small tables, in a variety of sizes and configurations. We also welcome inquiries for custom variations of our current offerings.
Because of the size and weight of our pieces, we find costs prohibitive for shipping. Our venue to our customers is face-to-face, either via visits to our shop or at one of several folk art / craft shows that we attend throughout the northeast. Please refer to the schedule for shows that we’ll be attending this year. Choose the piece you would like, in the color you want, and we can bring it to the next show in your area. Orders must be placed at least one month prior to a show for pickup. If you plan to visit our shop, it’s always a good idea to call ahead to confirm that we’ll be there and to get directions.
We believe that our furniture will not only serve the buyer for a lifetime, but will be handed down to be the next generation’s antiques.

Handspun Angora Products
Karen Cornell
Anson, ME
Since 1987 I have created fluffy warm garments and yarn from my English Angora rabbits. I handspin and handknit the fiber into durable hand-washable clothing. 100% angora or angora blend yarns, mittens, hats, headbands, baby garments and more. I also handspin/handknit felt hats and mittens. Custom orders are available upon request.
Angora is a very soft, silky textured fiber. I comb and pluck the fiber from my bunnies when they naturally shed every three months. The fiber is between 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 inches long and can easily be spun alone with very little to no shedding in the final garment. Angora fiber is hollow making it light weight and have high insulating properties.
My rabbits all have names, not numbers. I know which rabbit fur I use when making each garment so you will know the name of the rabbit that produced the fiber for your garment.
All angora garments are hand washed in cool water, mild soap and layed out to dry.

D & E Metalworks
Metal Sculpture
Eda & Dave Bentinnen
Mercer, ME
D & E Metalworks creates wind chimes, mobiles and sculpture for indoor and outdoor locations.
We use a variety of metals and techniques, as well as other embellishments, to create unique works of art. The Cor-ten steel, used for some of our outdoor sculpture, has enhanced atmospheric corrosion resistance due to the protective oxide formed during weathering. When painted, the paint will last twice as long on Cor-ten as on conventional steels. We continue to create new and interesting designs and we invite you to explore our wide range of metalwork.

Fine Pine Designs
Wood , Furniture , Basketry
Jim & Linda Leech
Bangor, ME
I established "FINE PINE DESIGNS" in 1985. At that time it was a part time venture to provide an outlet for the wood crafts I was making as a hobby. My only offerings were made from pine woods and most were unfinished.
I became dissatified with the end results of working with pine and started to experiment with hardwoods. I soon learned that the true beauty of hardwoods came through only when finished. I expermented with many different finishes before I was satisfied with the results.
I also learned that shine or glow from the wood came only when the wood itself was polished. This required many more man hours to make an item but also attracted customers.
The most pleasing thing about this experience is that most of the customers I attracted have become good friends.
Many of these friends had some great ideas about items they wanted made and so I started to do custom work based upon their needs.

Heirloom Bowls
Weeks Mills, ME
Handturned Wooden Burl Bowls
I am extremely fussy with regard to the wood I use for your bowls – as evidenced by the fact that I handpick the wood myself. I typically work in Cherry, Ash, Maple, Apple and Walnut - woods whose natural beauty is an essential ingredient when turning these fine vessels. At carefully chosen times of the year, I travel throughout the northeast acquiring these logs.
My designs focus on the gentle curve of the bowl’s body and the way it flows in one fluid arc from the base to the rim. Each wooden bowl is delicately detailed by adding my signature “touch” to the rim. To be considered an Heirloom Bowl each piece must be subtly elegant; lightweight yet balanced; and “feel right” when held. I’m a firm believer that a bowl is more than just a vessel; it should also capture your imagination and make you feel good.
Heirloom Bowls are made one at a time using only native North American hardwoods. Each bowl begins its life as a tree, obviously, which is then bucked into various lengths based on factors intended to provide the highest possible yield while also eliminating any defects. It’s then sectioned into individual blanks, which can be mounted on the lathe and rough-turned. All of this is done as soon after the initial harvesting of the tree as possible. These rough turned bowls are then dried which causes them to go “out of round”. They’re then re-turned to get them round again, sanded, and a food-safe finish is applied. The last step is to sign the bottom of each piece with my name, address and the wood species.

Iris Designs
Laura Pierce
Seaglass Jewelry
Whiting, ME
Iris Designs creates a unique line of custom jewelry.
All sea glass is picked by hand on the beautiful beaches of Maine and is used in its natural state.
Each piece of jewelry is lovingly created by Laura Pierce.
The rocky coast of Maine is famous for its history of shipwrecks.
Over the decades spilled cargo of colorful glass along with antique glass floats from lobster traps have been claimed by the sea. Sea action breaks them into pieces. Each piece is shaped, softened and polished by wave action and friction with pebbles, stones and rocks. They then wash ashore and become the seaglass gems found today.
Adorn yourself with a wearable piece of art.

Nestlewood Birds
Bird Carvings
Erwin Flewelling
Northport, ME
Erwin Flewelling, finds inspiration just outside the windows of Nestlewood House, his home in Northport on the beautiful coast of Maine. There, he and his wife, Ellen, marvel at God's creation as they observe the abundant species of birds that visit their feeders.
Erwin has carved more than 250 birds of various species. The quality of his work is evidenced by the many awards, ribbons, and trophies he has received from carving competitions up and down the East Coast, including the prestigious Ward World Competition. In addition to his birds, Erwin creates delicate feather pins, small birds for adorning your Christmas tree, and flat artwork in oils and acrylics. Handcrafted Bamboo Fly Fishing Rods
DJ Duggan
Pepperell, MA
All of my rods are made of hand split, hand planed Tonkin cane (Arundinaria amabilis) or tea stick cane imported from China. The sections are hand split, nodes hand corrected and filed, staggered, rough planed and heat treated before final planning to very close tolerances to insure that you will get the action you are looking for in the final rod.
All ferrule and reel seat metal components are high quality nickel silver, and reel seat inserts are of the best figured woods available to me. I do have a large variety of exotic woods available for turning. If you are building your own rod and would like a unique seat for your project please contact me with your wishes. If you have a piece of wood that you would like included in your rod I can do that for you as well.
All of my rods are dip varnished with an appropriate number of coats to give a high quality lasting finish that you can be proud of, and of course rods are complete with a fitted rod bag and aluminum tube.
If you would like to recreate a classic taper, or you have your own unique style of casting I will work with you to supply the fly rod of your dreams.

Spiralworks
Sculptural Felt Making
This primitive technique of shrinking wool fiber to make garments and sculpture has captured my attention and passion! I have specialized in making woolen vessels for finer galleries and craft shows throughout the United States. You can finally see a pattern outlining my technique in Carol Cypher’s new book entitled “How We Felt” (Interweave Press). I am recently exploring the richness of felt to make functional handbags, sculptural hats, and bird forms, in addition to my signature vessels with coiled wire rimming!

Todd Watts - Folk Artist
Hand-carved, Hand-painted Birds and Fish
Bocabec, NB
Through my folk art creations I share my love of wildlife and old wood. I make sculptures, furniture, and decorative bird houses. My pieces integrate original hand carvings with reclaimed wooden architecture and old furniture parts.
I am self-taught and have been working as an artist since 1996. I carve basswood that I purchase from small wood lot owners and sawyers, individually sculpting each piece using traditional hand carving techniques. Each piece is then hand painted.

We are able to create custom designs using
your ideas or pictures, or you may select from artwork that
we have already created. We offer a large selection of lamps,
panels, windows, mirrors, jewelry, wall hangings, holiday,
sun catchers and special occasion artwork from which to choose.
Panels may be made to fit an exact location, decor, color
and theme for your home or business. We use the copper foil
technique because it allows the use of small pieces of stained
glass, which results in greater detail in the finished artwork.
If you are interested in a hand crafted work of art, stop
by to see us at a local art and craft festival or at our studio
in Robbinston, Maine. |
